A Roma mother and her daughters walk through melting snow in a Roma settlement in Belgrade, Serbia, in February 2012. Roma living in Belgrade, often in miserable conditions, have faced increasing evictions from land they have claimed as their home. The families that lived here, most of whom survive from recycling cardboard and other materials, were forcibly evicted in April 2012. Many were moved into metal shipping containers on the edge of Belgrade.
