Fred Pavey, a British explosive ordnance disposal technician, removes part of a Spanish-built MAT-120 cluster mortar found on June 16 alongside a heavily traveled road in Misrata, the besieged Libyan city where civilians and rebel forces are surrounded on three sides by forces loyal to Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi. Pavey is part of a team from the ACT Alliance which is concerned about the safety of civilians traveling the road. Pavey works with the humanitarian mine action program of DanChurchAid, which is a member of the ACT Alliance. Photo by Paul Jeffrey/ACT Alliance.
