Paul is a photojournalist who lived in Central America for two decades, documenting life, poverty, war and hope. He returned to the U.S. in 2004, but continues traveling the world, often working with an international network of church-sponsored disaster agencies. His images have appeared in a variety of media from the Washington Post, Boston Globe and Time to Sierra, National Geographic Explorer and the BBC. They've also been used by organizations from the World Bank, World Health Organization and UNESCO to the UN Population Fund, World Meterological Organization and the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. A book with his photos from the Darfur region of Sudan - Where Mercy Fails - was published in 2009. A book with images from Haiti - Rubble Nation - was published in late 2011. Paul lives in Washington State, and works for the global mission agency of the United Methodist Church.
